French Art Nouveau Cast Iron Table and White Marble 1900s

About the Item

Refined French Art Nouveau table from the early 20th century, featuring a flowing cast iron base with vegetal curves and elegant organic motifs. The table retains its original wooden support surface, originally designed to accommodate a marble top — as seen in this version, with a subtly veined white marble disc that adds brightness and contrast to the sculptural base. The current black finish includes an older underlayer (possibly a primer like red lead) beneath a more recent coat of black paint, applied in a straightforward and functional restoration. While there are some surface irregularities such as paint drips or texture variations, the overall aesthetic remains faithful to its age and structural elegance. A charming occasional or side table with historical character, evoking the spirit of Parisian cafés and Belle Époque interiors.
