French Empire Style Mid-19th Century Fruitwood Side Table with Doric Column Legs

About the Item

This exquisite French Empire style fruitwood side table from the Mid-Century features a rectangular top supported by four Doric style wooden columns, with a characteristic entasis bulge, a slight convex shape. The legs are connected to each other by side stretchers and raised on four ball feet. The lovely richness of the fruitwood, the elegance of the purity of the lines and the excellent choice of the Doric order for the columns, gives a great presence to this French side or console table, circa 1860. Place it anywhere in your home against a wall below a pretty mirror, sunburst or painting!
