Italian Neoclassic-Style Raised Side Chest, Adorn w/Delicate Inlay Accents
About the Item
An Italian Neoclassical-style wooden raised side chest, with delicate inlay accents, from the mid 20th century. This vintage chest from Italy, designed with Neoclassic influences and clean lines, adorn with a beautiful inlay banding outlining the edges of the top, sides, and drawer-fronts, and with inlay accents in linear fashion down the legs. The chest houses three graduated and dove-tailed drawers, each adorn with a pair of Neoclassical style wreath & bow ring pulls and escutcheon at center. This chest is presented nicely upon four gently tapering squared legs. Please note that there is a slight warping to the top as can be viewed in more detail under the additional images. This mid-century Italian raised chest is the perfect piece where a smaller sized chest is needed; perhaps as a small nightstand, or used as an end table with storage next to your favorite reading chair.

An American wood-carved raised side chest with drawers, circa 1960's. This mid-century commode was created "from the work rooms and show rooms of Greenbaun Interiors" and is a very well made piece. It features a rectangular-shaped top with ebony inlay in the center and accenting the perimeter edges, atop a case which houses a pair of stacked drawers set between fluted side posts. The ebony trim continues on to the drawer fronts, outlining the panels, on diamond accents found along the skirt on either side, and wrapping the feet.
