About the Item

This is a primitive style two-tier display stand made in Japan. This piece of furniture was made in the Showa period (1900s-1940s) and was boldly carved from a large pine tree. The dynamic form of the natural wood is eye-catching and brings an overwhelming presence to the space. The glossy texture reminiscent of deep black lacquer gives the piece a sense of serenity amidst its strength, dignifying and tightening the air around it. The two tiers, upper and lower, allow for a wide range of uses. It can be used not only to display vases and art objects, but also as a stand to place store cards and display items as store fixtures. It is truly a one-of-a-kind item that combines the look of natural materials that have been aged for a long time with primitive strength.
