About the Item

A late 17th century elm and oak, pad foot small country side table with drawer. An oblong shaped, associated plank solid oak top of similar period. Plain elm frieze with the later addition of a single drawer with brass knob handle, made from the original timber of the frieze. Raised on turned slightly tapering legs with offset pad feet. Peg jointed construction. Beautifully figured timbers throughout. A wonderful small early table, in good condition. Very well presented and oozing quirky charm. Cleaned, waxed and very much ready for use. Dimensions: This table measures approximately 73 cm (28.75") tall, 66.5 cm (26.5") wide, and 46.5 cm (18.25") deep. Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in a good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. No loose joints. A some marks and blemishes in keeping with age and use. Associated top which is of a similar age, and has been fitted slightly askew to one side. Some aged natural splits in the top. The drawer is a later addition, with the drawer front being cut from the original elm frieze. Lovely warm patina, with attractive colour, and very good wax polish. Carefully and sensitively cleaned, waxed, and now very much ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
