MarbleCraft Simulated Onyx Occasional Table
About the Item
Three legged round top table consisting of a 23 inch diameter simulated onyx resin top by MarbleCraft on three 16 inch tapered brass-tone legs with self-leveling feet.
Both the top and the legs are New Old Stock (NOS) from 1963 and have never been used.

MarbleCraft was a product of the Marblecraft Company of Mapleville, Rhode Island, a division of Rexall Drug & Chemical Company, which at the time also owned TupperWare.
Advertisements in trade journals from the period say that Marblecraft duplicates the rare marbles and onyx quarried in Italy, Greece, and Pakistan; they also highlight furniture applications for the product which include table tops, counter tops and vanities, emphasizing its workability versus the original material. Editorials boast it is easier to drill, shape, and apply, that It neither shrinks nor expands; is impervious to acids and stains; and is light in weight.
