About the Item

“Tournecol” side table or nightstand in solid oak and oak veneer with an oblong shape, open compartment, and drawers resting on a roller base. Stamped 'Ruhlmann'. Reference number 1009AR and 1049NR in the Ruhlmann Archives, Musée des Années 30, Boulogne Billancourt. Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was a French furniture designer and interior decorator and one of the most important and influential figures of the Art Deco movement, even considered by some the godfather of French Art Deco. His designs are characterized through elegance and purity of form, made with precious materials and expert craftsmanship, combining luxuriousness with modernity.
