Rustic 18th Century Spanish Baroque Period Side Table

About the Item

Rustic 18th century Spanish Baroque period side table handcrafted in the early 1700s of solid walnut in the Catalan region having a rectangular top decorated with fruitwood inlay forming the word ANNO and the date 1717, as well as the initials FMCC and HCW (probably the owner) along the sides. Custom made for a wealthy merchant, the large carved center drawer with original iron pull was used for the exchange of money. Raised on turned, slanted legs joined by a box stretcher.
