About the Item

Jordi Vilanova i Bosch (1925-1998) was a Catalan interior designer. He trained as a cabinetmaker and then developed his skills in furniture design. In 1960, he founded the multidisciplinary group “La Cantonada” and was the founder and promoter of the Catalan art magazine “Art Questions” (1967-1974). During the 1960s and 1970s, he devoted most of his time to designing children's furniture. Since the 1970s, he has designed interiors for commercial establishments, offices, banks and residences. This table is solid, architectural and sturdy. Design qualities that are both typical of mid-century Spanish design and especially of the work of Jordi Vilanovo. Although his work is known for having Scandinavian design traits, his design is quintessentially Mediterranean, and is both functional and clear.
