About the Item

This 18th century rustic side table from the Navarre region of Spain may be small in size, but big in personality. Completely hand-crafted, it is nicely proportioned and its decorative scheme of incised marks and rows of vertical spindles manages to be homey and a bit fancy at the same time! The tabletop is nicely worn, with rounded corners and some small nicks picked up over its 200+ years of use. Overall the table is a dark brown color, with some nice wood grain, especially visible on the table surface. It has a single drawer with a simple wooden pull, featuring tongue and groove "finger joint" construction. One nice little detail is that a series of matching Roman numerals can be seen marked on the table by the furniture maker, showing where parts of the table were to be fitted together during its construction. A beautiful little piece of traditional Basque Country history, that will add that "touch" to any room.
