About the Item
TRONO chair is part of the new RAIOS collection, the last project by Pedro Avila.
Made in solid Eucalyptus, hand-carved, and finished with tung oil,
Pedro filled the naturally formed groove of the wood - a characteristic in a eucalyptus drying process - with molten metal to highlight their beauty and to refer to the idea of ??magma in the earth's center.
"RAIOS" explores the idea of ??chance as an aesthetic direction by taking natural phenomena as a starting point. In this series, Ávila adopts raw material using trunks of trees hit by lightning, removed from the earth by forces of nature.
The collection comprises side tables, benches, and armchairs hand carved in solid wood, composing a series of sculptural, abstract, and unique pieces.
