Antique English Regency Sofa/ Writing Table in Mahogany with Ormolu & Drawers
About the Item
A fine English Regency sofa table on trestle base with drop leaves, in mahogany with line inlays banding the top & drawer fronts. Offers two drawers, original brass ormolu & cast brass, lions paw feet. Table is three-dimensional & identical on both front & back sides. One side has operable drawers while the other has faux drawer fronts that include the same ebonized pulls. Table features a deep side drop-down. The grain pattern of the beautiful crotch-mahogany employed on the top extends to the drop downs. England, circa 1820. Expertly restored in our workshop with a French-polish finish.
Makes a handsome end table, sofa table or nightstand, that can double up as a writing desk!
Measures: 40 1/2" long x 24 1/2" deep x 28 3/4" high; 65" long when the leaves are up; Each leaf is 13" wide; From the floor to the underside of the apron: 23 1/2" high.
