With my 20 years of experience, I propose new Japanese antiques from my unique point of view.
This is a very old low table made in Japan.
The furniture is from the Meiji period (1860s-1920s).
It is made of cedar wood.
The design has been stripped down to the bare minimum.
It is sophisticated. The grain of the cedar on the top surface is also beautiful.
It appears to be very delicately constructed, but it does not wobble and is solid.
This item evokes the spirit of wabi-sabi, the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and impermanence.
It is a modest and humble beauty, an unconventional beauty, the opposite of vulgarity.
It is unique and extremely rare.
