Japanese wooden low table/20th century/exhibition table

About the Item

This unique low table is a combination of an old Japanese wooden board and an old iron ball. Softwoods such as pine are used for the top board, and it has a solid weight of 29.65 kg, which gives it a massive feel. This massive atmosphere gives it an even greater presence when placed in a room. The top panel is in an unpainted condition, giving the natural texture of the wood. Knots, small scratches, and stains can be seen, but these too have been accumulated over a long period of time and have a character and taste of their own. The iron ball is made of an old cannonball-like weight, the purpose of which is not clear, but it is an item that evokes the strength of an old age. The iron ball is covered with a wooden ring to keep it from rolling. The table is stabilized. The design is very modern, yet has a warm antique charm that is somehow warm and inviting, making it perfect for both contemporary interiors and for blending in with older pieces. The warmth that only solid wood can bring together with the massive feel of the iron ball brings a special presence to the space. Although there is a twist in the longitudinal direction, a urethane sheet is attached to the tip of the iron ball to adjust the rattling. It can be used as a low table without any problem. Antique low tables like this one are hard to find. It is a rare item and an attractive item that can only be found in our store.
