Outrageous opportunity to own a rare Mario Botta dining or conference table, made in 1986, in mint condition.
This Dining table or desk, titled the model "Tesi" from 1986, was designed by Mario Botta and produced by Alias. The perforated sheet steel structure is lacquered in black with a rectangular glass top. This iconic table demonstrates the influence of Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn and Carlo Scarpa on Botta’s work.
During the 1980s, famous Swiss architect, Mario Botta worked with the manufacturer Alias as a designer on a whole range of furniture. Botta’s ingenious designs are often composed of simple geometric shapes, while also creating unique complex spaces. See images 3, 8 and 9 in this posting to see some of his stunning architectural works.
This listing is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the last examples of the original production of this collectible and iconic design.
Condition: The table for sale here is in great original condition with less-than-usual usage marks for its age. It has been very well taken care of for its entire life.

Matteo Zorzenoni started to experiment with Murano glass in the 1970s and, even if the generations have changed, the glass is blown as it once was: it needs a master glassblower and two strong lungs. Working with this material every day is like revisiting a traditional dish. The ingredients are the same but there is something new in the taste.
Matteo Zorzenoni's research is mainly focused on materials and their limits, aimed at discovering their potential. His projects have been exhibited at: Maxxi Museum in Rome, the Biennale of Art and Design in St. Etienne, the London Design Festival, the Venice Biennale. Matteo Zorzenoni was a professor at the IUAV in Venice, collaborates with the IED in Madrid and hosted a laboratory for Domaine de Boisbuchet (Vitra Design Museum). After a collaboration with Fabrica, Benetton Communication Research Center, he started a new project with Jaime Hayon, which is still ongoing. For him and her talking about “revenge”, sometimes it can be sweet so “sweet” ….therefore my concept was to create a sensational product more like a jewellery piece …I worked on the softness side of the revenge to prove it more sensual then aggressive combining reality and fantasy in a provocative yet glamorous way while preserving the eternal aspect of the design. Made of statuario marble top, solid brass handmade turned and polished, and a metal sheet in gun metal finishing. The brass with its golden color is the material that reflects the oriental feel through an extravagant aspect specially in a polished finishing, the marriage between “statuario” marble and brass emphasizes the required image which here is a “desirable jewel”. Adding that a white and black background accentuate the contrast for these shiny brass elements to show their splendor. “Glory holes” is more than just an ordinary table, well for the first impression “glory holes” is a glamorous object conceived as a piece of jewelry projecting a new dimension in the world of home accessory, it’s a multifunctional object the main function of it is a “soliflore groupage” or a group of small vases from which came the word “glory”, when gathered on the perforated marble...

Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) she was born in Paris in 1903 and attended the E´cole de l'Union centrale des Arts de´coratifs from 1920-1925. Charlotte Perriand designed furniture made of anodized aluminium and chromium-plated steel, showing it at the 1927 "Salon d'Automne" in Paris.
After meeting Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand worked with him and Pierre Jeanneret until 1937. The revolutionary tubular steel furnishings and system furniture designed by the three were presented as "E´quipement de l'habitation" (home equipment) at the 1929 "Salon d'Automne," where they were widely acclaimed.
In 1930 the Union Des Artistes Modernes (UAM) was founded in Paris, a group that viewed itself as a countermovement challenging such establishment organizations as the "Salon d'Automne" and also advocated Art Deco and Modernism. From 1931 Charlotte Perriand showed her own work solo there. In 1937 Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret collaborated on designing a mountain chalet of sheet aluminium, which they showed at the "Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne" and later they came up with plans for prefab houses made of aluminum.
In 1940 Charlotte Perriand became a design consultant to the Japanese Board...
