About the Item

A pair of antique Regency occasional tables in the manner of Trotter of Edinburgh Constructed in a well patinated Amboyna, adorned with Hollywood, goncalo alves and brass line inlays; rising from castor shod swept quadripartite legs having brass lions paw feet supporting the incurved platforms, dressed with a beaded reel edge, issuing stepped truncated pyramidical columns, and over, foliate inlaid, goncalo alves cross banded rectangular platforms. William Trotter (1772-1833) The most prominent and successful cabinet maker in Scotland, his extensive premises were described in Thomas Dibdin’s ‘Tour in the North Countries of England and Scotland’, quoting, in part ‘The locality of this great...warehouse is rather singular.
