This rare easy chair, designed by Hans Asplund for Nordiska Kompaniet in 1955, exemplifies Swedish mid-century modern design. Custom-made for the beauty salon at NK’s flagship department store in Stockholm, only six chairs were made and never offered for retail sale. Asplund’s collaboration with NK often involved site-specific furniture, tailored to complement the interiors of the store or other commissioned spaces.
