About the Item

A unique tray table from Rörstrand made in faience. The top is in a blue colour, hand painted with a french, floral inspired motive (common for Rörstrand porcelain during that period). On the back of the tray there is a signature saying, "Rörstrand 12/6, 1770, 42, B.K.H The legs are ornated with rocailles, also a popular attribute for this period. During the 18th century tray tables became popular when having tea and coffee partys. "det Swenske Porcellainsvärket" was founded 1726 and they started their manufacturing at Rörstrand castle in Stockholm, led by the german porcelain maker Johann Wolff. Rörstrand is the second oldest porcelain maker in Europe, after Meissen.
