Aaron Hinojosa Canvas, Gold and Humanity, Period, 20th Century, circa 1989

About the Item

Sunshine in your eyes, with this magnificent creation on canvas by the artist AARON HINOJOSA. Our gaze is instantly drawn to its bright colors and in particular the color gold, representing silver, which has the power to transform a single man into multiple personalities. Period: 20th century Circa: 1989 Dimensions: H: 100 x W: 100cm Born in the city of Oaxaca in Mexico, Aaron Hinojosa (1958-2018), spent part of his childhood in San Cristobal de las Casas in the State of Chiapas. It is difficult for him to follow his schooling because he has to support his family. In the morning, he goes to school and in the afternoon we find him on the creative market where he works as a shoe shiner. These years spent in contact with artists will probably have influenced his future life. In 1977, at the age of 19, the weariness of his daily life and the desire to discover other horizons pushed him to emigrate to Europe. He arrived in London then left for Aix en Provence via Paris. Clandestine, without papers, he survives thanks to various odd jobs and his talents as a singer-guitarist. One day, he knocks on the door of the Beaux-Arts where he meets Professor Vincent Bioulès who is a French painter and one of the founding members of the group "Supports/Surfaces" (artistic movement which was one of the founding groups of the French contemporary art, both in painting and in sculpture), he offered to take him under his wing. He then left for Lyon where he decided to settle down permanently. In his small workshop, he works all day, surrounded by his friends or his children who are a source of inspiration for him. Aaron brings us all the vitality and inventiveness of sunnier regions. Creator, painter and delirious sculptor, these creations mix a real technical virtuosity with an omnipresent oneirism. A source of meditation and smiles, his paintings and his fantastic animals populate the apartments of many Lyonnais and the halls of certain large hotels.

  • Sculpture the Tiger and the Bulldog, Aaron Hinojosa, 20th Century
    Located in CRÉTEIL, FR
Magnificent sculpture named "the tiger with the bulldog" is a unique piece. Mixed technique, particularity of its creator, mastering the recycling of all materials at hand, always with an ecological concern, conveying messages on what he lived or wanted to denounce in his time. Period: 20th century Dimensions: Height: 39cm x width: 25cm x depth: 16cm. 24 carat leaf gilding This feline is not chosen by chance, the tiger is a strong symbol of vitality, unpredictability, strength but also of self-confidence. It also strongly symbolizes ambition and justice. On his head, like a cap, the face of the man with his eyes raised to the sky. On his back, like a backpack, the bulldog's head. The bulldog, with its massive, muscular, stocky body as well as a powerful jaw evokes strength. His strength, his tenacity, his willingness to fight stronger animals. This sculpture certainly found its inspiration in England, or Aaron Hinojosa, the first country where he stayed after leaving Mexico. Victorian...

  • 20th Century Italian Acrylic Abstract Urban Expressionist Painting on Canvas
    By Andrea Spinelli
    Located in Firenze, IT
The present work of art titled "Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters)" is part of a series of paintings that the artist composed in the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the observation of the urban reality of those years. The artist take the cue from his walks in Florence, both in the center and in the suburbs, and by the observation of billboards and posters scattered throughout the city. The mass of information, colors, messages and words were carried on the canvas with acrylic colors, ideally reconstructing the tears and overlaps of all the information and advertising contained on these huge sheets of paper that invade our cities. The geometric lines are overlaid with jagged lines, overlaps and color dripping and also the choice in the color palette, with different shades of white, gray, rose, orange red and blue helps in rendering the result of the tears and ripped paper. The result is a beautiful multicolored modern abstract canvas, both aesthetically and ethically, with many rich layers of color, texture and expression in which the artist leaves his own message. The painting is housed in a simple modern white lacquer wood frame. Andrea Spinelli...
