Rare drawing - Keith Haring - on a magazine page representing the American actress Kim Basinger. The drawing appears on the back of the page, which features a second photo of Kim Basinger.
The motif represents one of Keith Haring's favorite characters, a winged character jumping on the image of Kim Basinger lying down. The lines of movement are characteristic of Keith Haring who thus manages to create life in the drawing.

Keith Haring, born May 4, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania and died February 16, 1990 in New York, was an American artist, draftsman, painter and sculptor.
His white chalk drawings are often found in public spaces and New York City subways. He was inspired from an early age by Walt Disney cartoons, especially Mickey, and by his father, an amateur designer.
When he came across an exhibition of the works of Pierre Alechinksy, he decided to pursue a career in the fine arts. He moved to New York in the late 1970s to take classes at the School of Visual Arts, and quickly immersed himself in the city's graffiti culture. In the mid-1980s, he became friends with artists like Andy Warhol, founder of Pop Art, Kenny Scharf and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The Haring style is marked by the repetition of synthetic forms underlined in black with bright colors on various supports.
His desire to make his art accessible to as many people as possible led him to open, in 1986, in the SoHo district, his Pop Shop at 292 Lafayette Street, where he sold various works of art, objects, posters, illustrated by himself. even. This very controversial approach in artistic circles is nevertheless strongly supported by his friends and by his mentor Andy Warhol.

Keith Haring
Keith Haring began experimenting with his bold, graphic lines and cartoon-inspired figures on the walls of New York City subway stations in the early 1980s. He called them his “laboratory,” places to develop a radical new aesthetic based on an ideology of creating truly democratic public art.
Haring’s paintings, prints and murals address the universal themes of death, love and sex, as well as contemporary issues he experienced personally, like the crack-cocaine and AIDS epidemics. They derive much of their impact from the powerful contrast between these serious subjects and the joyful, vibrant pictographic language he uses to express them, full of dancing figures, babies, barking dogs, hearts and rhythmic lines, as well as references to pop culture.
To make his art even more accessible, in 1986, Haring opened the Pop Shop in Soho. In a foreshadowing of today’s intermingling of art and fashion, the shop sold merchandise and novelty items featuring imagery by Haring and contemporaries like Kenny Scharf and Jean-Michel Basquiat. While his works sometimes included text, for the most part, he chose to communicate through drawing.
“Drawing is still basically the same as it has been since prehistoric times,” Haring once declared. “It lives through magic.”

The drawing is perfectly done. Wonderful work of light on the lace in particular which seems to come out of the painting thanks to its bluish tint. The shadow play is magnificent. On thick marked paper. Drawing Dated 1891 and signed. The Signature is probably “Sieur Duval”. Very good Made from the magnificent painting by Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659-1743), painter of the 18th century model dated 1707. The engraver Pierre Drevet (1663-1738) also engraved this work. The work is “Mary by the grace of God, sovereign of Neufchâtel and Vallangin, duchess of Nemours” / « Marie par la grâce de Dieu, souveraine de Neufchâtel et Vallangin, duchesse de Nemours » Description of the work: Half-legged, seated, turned three-quarters to the left, looking straight on, the princess, whose left arm is folded across her chest, holds her crown placed on the table with her right hand. She died in Paris on June 16, 1707, at the age of 82.
