About the Item

"Toxic" hand painted ceramic plate "SegnalEtica" series by Pantoù Ceramics, hand thrown and hand painted glazed earthenware, Italian majolica. All unique pieces, Italy, 2021. Measure: 40 cm diameter. Pantoù Ceramics is an artistic duo formed by Ilaria Biffara and Giampaolo Santoddì, both ceramic artists originally from Caltagirone (Sicily), one of the most renowned town for ceramic art in Italy. In 2017 they moved to Faenza – also world-renowned Italian ceramic centre – where they have founded Pantoù Ceramics, their very own project based on the fruitful contamination between artistic cultures, traditions, and heritage. Since 2018 they collaborate with established ceramic brand Bottega Vignoli with a +40-year tradition in Majolica decoration whom they share the studio in a fruitful coworking relationship. Pantoù Ceramics ambition is keeping alive a centuries old ceramic art heritage translating it into contemporary languages to address new generations of collectors and enthusiasts. All their pieces are unique, individually thrown (including plates!) and hand painted with various techniques.
