Extremely and Beautifully Hand-Colored, Copper Engraving of 7 Parakeets '1792'
About the Item
An authentic, perfect and bright, originally hand-colored, illustration of 7 Parakeets:
La Perruche aux ailes noires, La Perruche a collier, La Perruche aux ails variees, La Perruche du Perou and La Perruche a tete grise. It also depicts Le Coulacissi and Le Sosove, Parakeet-like birds.
Drawn on parchment paper (copper engraving). It has a fine shining because of the authenticly applied egg-yolk as varnish. The Artist is Robert Bernard (1792). The illustration is plate number 230 from ''Encyclopédie méthodique: Histoire Naturelle, Ornithologie', by Panckoucke (Paris), after the famous Encyclopédie by Diderot and d'Alembert.
