Japanese Antique Wooden Wabi-Sabi Board/Wall Hanging Board/Table Top/1868-1912

About the Item

It is a very old Japanese work board. It is from the Meiji period (1868-1912). It was used in ordinary houses and farms. The material is chestnut. It weighs 19.5kg and is heavy. The fine grain unique to chestnut and the chestnut wood will change to a dark brown color over time due to ultraviolet rays and other factors. This board has a deep atmosphere that makes you feel very tasteful and wabi-sabi. Very good looking. It was used as a workbench, but I think that the top plate is relatively beautiful with few scratches. Unfortunately, there is a crack in the center due to drying etc. However, please rest assured that the board will not come off due to the horizontal bar on the back side. You can hang it on the wall to appreciate it like a painting, or use it as a table top. In the photo, the table base and board are combined, but this item is sold only as a board.
