About the Item

A striking decorative tapestry painted on coarse jute canvas, inspired by the legendary Bayeux Tapestry-the Romanesque embroidery from the 11th century depicting the Norman conquest of England. This artwork represents a stylized judicial scene, loosely referencing the episode in which Harold, future King of England, is presented to Count Guy of Ponthieu after his capture. The composition features schematic figures and flat colors in ochre, green, and brown tones. The borders are adorned with geometric motifs and animals, echoing the medieval spirit of the original tapestry. The robust texture of the jute canvas enhances the antique effect, making this piece ideal for interiors with medieval, rustic, or eclectic inspiration. This large panel (137 x 57 cm / 53.9 x 22.4 in) combines decorative impact with historical charm, ideal for wall display in a classic or eclectic interior. The painting is on natural jute canvas with a wooden frame, showing minor age-consistent wear. A certificate of presentation is included. Marked "Vinopaint" (Antiquarian series, Series D no. 2016) Condition: Good, with slight patina consistent with age; original rear label partially legible. Why you'll love it ✔️ A unique decorative piece that evokes the charm and history of medieval art ✔️ A perfect accent for a statement wall, library, or period-inspired interior ✔️ Rare item with character - ideal for collectors, designers, or anyone seeking a bold historic touch ✔️ Ready to hang and enjoy
