About the Item

Attract mixed-media composition on paper by Robert Winslow. This painting was created in 1984. Winslow is also well known for his sculpture. From the art collection of an international corporation. Prior labels to the verso. Bio from the artist: “We emerge and then dissolve back. The recession as complex as the emergence. We Stand always on the edge of oblivion. Life cannot be fully embraced until acceptance of the nature of our short-lived visit.” Robert Winslow. Robert emerged as a painter and stone sculptor in his twenties in Phoenix Arizona where he began selling his painting and small stone sculptures to a gallery. In 1976 he was commissioned by the Dunlap family to create a sculpture for the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. He created Freedom in 1977 with only Hammer and chisel. In the early 1980sRobert moved to Illinois to create a large marble sculpture for McDonald’s Corporate Headquarters. He has spent the last 30 years in the Midwest creating public art for corporations and private collections. Robert Winslow effortlessly flows between formats, materials and mediums and approaches every project with equal parts philosopher, earthly explorer and visual artist. Robert believes that art comes before the medium, his vision / expression dictates the medium, his only limitation, the knowledge of the medium he has selected. Robert’s expressions go from a 28 ton 18 foot granite abstract sculpture at McDonald’s Corporation “TOTEM” to a 38”x38” subtle Fine painting oil on board, “vessel receding”. Robert has worked with, granite, marble, quartz, jade, limestone, optical glass, bronze, glass, wood, and a plethora of other mediums.
