Set of Four Framed Engravings Representing the Districts of Paris

About the Item

Set of four etchings by Orfeo Tamburini and aquatint in colors representing the streets of Paris. Each one is signed by the artist in pencil and stamped by the art publisher Il Cigno in Rome. These are limited editions of 130 copies made between 1979 and 1981. They are sold in wood frames. 7th district - "la casa bianca" (the white house) district of Palais Bourbon, possibly rue de Babylone 8th district - "square Saint Augustin" Élysée district 12th district - "Hôtel de la Nation" Reuilly district 19th district - "la nuvola binuca" (the white cloud) Vilette-Belleville district Orfeo TAMBURINI (1910-1994) is known for his portraits of urban life. Fascinated by Cézanne, he developed a practice with warm intonations and broad lines. He moved to Paris in 1971 and illustrated the capital. The same year, he received the gold medal of Italian cultural merit.
