Vintage Hand Painted Ceramic Plaque Portrait, Framed Large Tile Painting
About the Item
Vintage Monochrome Portrait Painting
Dating from the 1950s-1960s period and painted in the Fauvist style.
Freely and quickly painted confidently with monochrome glaze on thick ceramic tile.
They are unsigned but definitely by an accomplished hand.
The tile is stamped ‘England’ but the paintings have a definite Scandinavian feel.
In its original and simple ebonised wooden frame which complements the portraits well.
The ceramic tile is in good vintage order and free from damage. The frames have a little wear as you would expect from age but nothing too serious.
Overall measurements 54cm x 40cm x 6cm.
