About the Item
A set of eight English engravings of classical subjects titled: Bacchus Reeling; Apollo & Marsyas; Egyptian Symbols; Cupid Embracing Psyche; Mercury; Diomedes: Cupid curbing a lion.
Except for the Egyptian Symbols, all other engravings are signed "R.Dagley del et sculp"referring to Richard Dagley ( 1761 -1841) the artist who drew them. Dagley was a genre painter and engraver in London and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy in London between 1785-1833.
Richard Dagley (c.1761–1841)[1] was an English subject painter and illustrator.
At the bottom of each reads Published March 24, 1804 by John Murray 32 Fleet Street London.
Beautifully framed in black glossy modern frame with a faux marble matting.
