MID-19th CENTURY EIGHT PENCIL DRAWINGS ON PAPER WITH YOUNG GIRLS

About the Item

Beautiful set of eight oval pencil drawings on natural paper, depicting eight young girls, in two-tone pink and white, with some details rendered in a delicate light blue. The young girls are represented with magnificent hair, some loose and others elaborate, adorned with elegant bows. The dress they wear is barely visible, while their faces are drawn both in profile and in three-quarter or frontal view. The author of these drawings shows great mastery in the rendering of details, highlighting meticulous care and extraordinary realism. The drawings are contained within oval frames in carved and gilded walnut wood, characterized by a bow cymatium, which adds a touch of elegance. A further element of note is the author's signature, legible on his works. The creator of these extraordinary drawings is "Danis," a French artist active around the mid-19th century. Measurements: HxWxD with frame 19 x 13 x 1.5cm / HxW only drawing 12 x 10cm.
