Beautiful portrait of a young woman in full Pop Art style
This artwork, never before on the market, comes from an important private collection and is beautified by an impressive original frame in silvered wood, in almost perfect condition.

Dante Ricci (Rome 1921 - 2009)
As a young man, he contributed his drawings to newspapers such as ‘Il Messaggero’ and ‘Il Popolo’.
He enrolled at the Liceo Artistico and continued his studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti, attending painting and sculpture courses held by Angelo Zanelli, Attilio Selva, Gianni Vagenti, Duilio Cambellotti, Ferruccio Ferrazzi and Carlo Siviero.
In his early twenties, he was called upon to collaborate on large-scale works for public institutions and began to paint pictures that earned him awards and recognition.
At the beginning of World War II, called to arms, he was sent to the Russian front, where he was wounded.
Even during this period, Dante Ricci did not abandon his creative activity: there are numerous paintings, sketches and tempera paintings executed in Budapest, Prague, Lviv, Bucharest and Kiev. After the Liberation, he exhibited with Renato Gattuso, Saro Mirabella, Ugo Attardi, Renzo Vespignani and Marcello Muccini in numerous group and collective exhibitions, including national ones, in various centres in Italy.
Since 1954, his works have been presented in major national exhibitions, as well as in Italian art exhibitions abroad (Czechoslovakia, USSR, Poland, Romania, etc.).
His multifaceted activity includes drawings, lithographs, etchings, published in prestigious magazines and newspapers.
He took part in various TV documentaries in the 1970s and dedicated himself to illustration for various publishers and also for the Poligrafico dello Stato.
His are three large altarpieces on the life of Saint Joseph, exhibited in the Abbey of Montecassino, the fresco depicting Pope John Paul II in prayer, in the Chapel of the Mother of Good Counsel in Genazzano and the portrait of Blessed Petruccia.
His works appear in private collections in Europe and the USA.

Riccardo Licata (Turin, 20 December 1929 - Venice, 19 February 2014) was an Italian painter and mosaicist.
He was born in Turin on 20 December 1929.
His family first moved to Paris and then to Rome, where he lived from 1935 to 1945. In 1946, he moved with his mother to Venice.
In 1947, he enrolled at the Liceo Artistico.
He studied Bauhaus culture and began to try his hand at mosaics. He met the artists Santomaso, Vedova, Viani, Turcato and Birolli.
