About the Item
Wonderfully detailed and dramatic set design gouache and watercolor painting in the manner of the famous set designer, Oliver Smith. Colorful and vibrant stage pageantry. This work has everything from architecture, costumes, procession, drapery and a horse! Signed and dated lower right, Newton Smith, 70 or Newson Smith (?). Good overall condition. The piece has not been viewed out of the frame. The framing treatment consists of a gilt wood molding, double mat and under glass. The actual art work is in good condition with no visible paint loss or restorations. Some possible fade to the pigments due to age.
Approximate overall dimensions with the frame are 21.13" wide x 17.13" high. The sight dimensions are approximately 14.75" wide x 11" high.
