About the Item
A 1990 mixed media abstract painting and collage titled, My Life as a Child, by American artist Leslie Trewyn (1941-2017). Signed to the lower right corner, this work features an aerial view of a spirited child in colorful, patterned attire seated among a jump rope, jacks, and a red ball against a gray ground. Signed “TREWYN” to the lower right corner with the artist tag, title, and year verso. The painting is presented in a metal frame.
Artist and teacher Leslie Trewyn studied at the University of Wisconsin where she earned her B.S. in Art Education. Trewyn found inspiration from her extensive travel, reading, and life experience, painting compositions that evoked the feeling of the experience. She exhibited nationally and regionally in her home and gallery in Wisconsin.
