19th Century Albion Harris Bicknell Painting
About the Item
In this oil-on-panel painting by American painter and printmaker Albion Harris Bicknell (1837-1915), two people are seen in conversation near a harbor. They stand beneath a column at the entrance of what is perhaps a church. Bicknell has rendered the atmosphere in luminous colors and we can see other buildings in the background against a clear, blue sky.
The painting is framed in an ornate giltwood frame.
