'The Ace of Spades' by J. L. Rónay J. L. Rónay French /Hungarian, 19th century genre painter. A finely painted oil on canvas of an Italian beauty seated on a stool, with tossed playing cards in landscape. Signed lower right 'J.L. Ronay' . Complete with its magnificent original ornate carved and gilt frame. This is a stunning example of J.L. Ronay's work, shows influences of the artists of the Paris Salons. Carved gitlwood frame 6-inches deep x 39 -inches wide x 45" -inches high Canvas measures 24-inches wide x 30" -inches high This work has been previously professionally conserved and relined.
