19th Century Italian Banquet Genre Painting After il Volterrano

About the Item

An Italian oil on canvas genre painting dating back to mid-19th century, after Volterrano's famous the Prank of Pievano Arlotto, a 17th century famous painting exposed in Palazzo Pitti Florence, by Baldassare Franceschini, (Volterra 1611-Florence 1698), known as Il Volterrano after his native town of Volterra, was a highly prolific Tuscan painter active in Florence. The composition depicts a crowded banquet and a joke between guests with ecclesiastical robes a lively banquet with many guests and a caste in the background. In good condition, framed with original carved giltwood frame. Signed with a red monogram lower left E.T. It comes from a private residence in Milan; good age related condition. The canvas size is 40 x 51.5 centimeters. Frame size is 52.5 x 63.5 x 5 centimeters. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti.
