"Allegory Of Peace" Attribuite Franz Xaver Winterhalter (Menzenschwand, 20 April 1805 - Frankfurt am Main, 8 June 1873) was a painter and lithographer. Franz Xaver Winterhalter He worked in numerous European courts, such as Karlsruhe, Paris, London, Prague and Moscow, performing grandiose portraits of rulers, such as the one for King Louis Philippe of France in 1839 (in Versailles) or the one for Queen Victoria with her family in 1842 at Windsor Castle. He also painted three very famous portraits of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi) and immortalized Empress Eugenie of France as Queen Marie Antoinette. Winterhalter is famous for his mastery and for faithfully rendering all the folds and tactile characteristics of clothes and hairstyles on the phone. In this magnificent painting, oil on canvas, we can see all the smallest details of the characters; in particular Queen Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; London, 24 May 1819 - Isle of Wight, 22 January 1901) was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837 and Empress of India from 1876 until her death . Her very long reign is also known as the Victorian age. Another important detail, but above all not a detail that is seen every day, is the self-portrait of the painter depicted in the helmet that is painting the picture.
