About the Item

A religious painting from the Viceregal school, done in oil on canvas, depicting the crowned Virgin in a serene attitude, wrapped in a mantle decorated with floral motifs and a golden radiance. The central figure stands out for its Marian symbolism and expressive frontality, typical of colonial devotional art produced in the workshops of Upper Peru or New Spain during the 17th–18th centuries. The original frame, carved in wood and finished with gold leaf, complements the work with vegetal ornamentation in the corners and relief moldings.
