Jean-Baptiste Scoriel, Belgium (Lambusart, 1883 - Tamines, 1956) was a painter and landscaper who primarily practiced oil painting. Over time, his palette became refined and brightened: Jean-Baptiste Scoriel was able to create a rich and vibrant painting. J.B. Scoriel was a highly esteemed professor who trained many future artists. Scoriel could create vast landscapes using simple means. His colors are bold and his effects very bright. His constant message to his pupils was: "Simplify!" the teacher would repeat to his students during studies on the motifs of villages, hamlets, in the countryside, and along the banks of the Sambre and Biesme.
