Il dipinto, in condizioni generali molto buone come evidente dalle fotografie allegate, raffigura il monte Titlis con il lago Engstlensee nell'Oberland Bernese, una delle cinque aree in cui viene diviso il Canton Berna, sviluppandosi intorno ai laghi di Thun e di Brienz: si estende dalla catena dello Jungfrau fino al confine sud del Canton Berna ed è particolarmente nota per la presenza del monte Eiger con la sua famosa parete nord.
La tela di Hansh, proveniente da una importate collezione privata veneziana, ha un significativo precedente passaggio in asta nel 1989 alla Christie's di Amsterdam dove venne aggiudicato per una cifra superiore ai 13.000 euro.
