Antonio Barone was born in Sicily and arrived at Ellis Island at age 11. He studied painting under William Merritt Chase at the Chase School in New York City, which later became Parsons School of Design. He spent time working between New York City and California. Barridoff Galleries of Portland, Maine published a catolog of his works in 1985 - Antonio Barone, American 1889-1971.
