Santiago Picatoste (1971, Palma de Mallorca) is a plastic artist and sculptor who was based in
Malaga for 10 years. His extensive biography extends back to 1998, with projects, awards,
scholarships, collections and exhibitions all over the world.
Picatoste’s creative process has always involved spontaneity and alchemy, surging from post
pictorial abstraction. He has sculptures publicly displayed in a variety of Spanish cities and
participated in ARCO since 2002 and in international art fairs such as Art Verona, Art Bologna,
SP Arte (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Art Karlsruhe Art Fair (Germany), and Paint and Press NY (EEUU).
In 2013, he won the international painting prize from IBERART, ABC Madrid Museum & The
Griffin Gallery in London, and the international sculpture prize from The Gabarron Foundation in
the E.E.U.U. Also, he has been awarded a scholarship from the Pilar and Joan Miro Foundation
and the House of Velázquez.
