About the Item
Beautiful painting by the famous contemporary Italian artist Rossana Bartolozzi.
In her typical modern abstract style, she never forgets the lesson of classicism.
In this painting, of rare beauty and intensity, one can fully grasp the legacy of the painting of the 1930s-40s, with the marvellous torso of a man from behind that looks like a sculpture from the Stadio dei Marmi at the Foro Italico in Rome.
This painting, comes from a private collection.

Rossana Bartolozzi
Born in Jesi (AN), she lives and works in Rome.
In the Eternal City, she works as an art teacher, painter, set designer and decorator.
She taught drawing at all kinds of schools for many years until she gave up teaching in order to be able to devote herself more freely to her work as a painter.
Soon, Rossana Bartolozzi was urged by many to devote herself to teaching painting techniques to adults and senior citizens.
In fact, she now performs this task in public centres and in her studio, where she has set up a weekly course in nude-figure drawing with life-size models. Although this resumption of activity involves her quite a bit, she still has time to devote herself to painting, participating in numerous group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and holding an average of one solo exhibition per year in Rome and other Italian cities.
Her activity continues as a decorator. In fact, she has executed numerous murals. Worthy of mention is the mural 'Emigration for Australia' measuring 13 x 3.30 m in Malfa, Salina (Aeolian Islands) and all the panels on the ferry ships to the former Yugoslavia commissioned by the ship-owner Eugenia Lefebre.
She is also dedicated to the practice of engraving and, as she loves updating and experimenting, she went to Calella (Barcelona) to experiment with material engraving.
She has two passions: set design and religious painting.
As a scenographer, she has realised numerous works in various theatres in Rome and, with regard to religious painting, she has commissioned several crucifixions, Madonnas with children and frescoed churches.

Riccardo Licata (Turin, 20 December 1929 - Venice, 19 February 2014) was an Italian painter and mosaicist.
He was born in Turin on 20 December 1929.
His family first moved to Paris and then to Rome, where he lived from 1935 to 1945. In 1946, he moved with his mother to Venice.
In 1947, he enrolled at the Liceo Artistico.
He studied Bauhaus culture and began to try his hand at mosaics. He met the artists Santomaso, Vedova, Viani, Turcato and Birolli.
