Superb Painting by Daniel Van der Putten, a view of one of Ireland’s most scenic locations Wicklow mountains in County Wicklow just outside of Dublin. This vintage view depicts a stream with sheep grazing to the left and a Round Tower and a group of cottage ruins with cattle grazing in the distance and a stunning Cherry Blossom Tree to the left. Oil on board complete with its original exceptional giltwood frame. Signed lower right Daniel Van der Putten and titled at back as shown, “Glendalough in Spring” Van der Putten is Dutch born but resides and paints in the UK. Exhibited only in the finest Galleries, it is a great honour to have a Van Der Putten in my Gallery and to have a Painting of St. Stephens Green by Van Der Putten is a very rare honour. Van der Putten's majestic brush work captures with consummate finesse the Magic of this Old City Park in Central Dublin on a cold winters day as people walk their dog. Daniel Van der Putten was born in a small farming village near Leyden in Holland and is completely self-taught, he was truly inspired by the finest Dutch landscape painters of the Dutch Romantic period. Daniel has studied various techniques of painting primarily those of the Great Dutch Masters, giving attention to observing the natural landscape wherever he has travelled. Daniel was particularly inspired by the Irish and British landscape, and shortly after moving to the UK became a full-time painter. His desire was to faithfully depict the British countryside in differing seasons. He is interested in showing the vast array of color, light and shadow which appears in nature and his detailed technique reaches perfection in his treatment of skies and trees. He is an artist of International reputation. His work has been shown in London, Scotland, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and one-man exhibitions throughout England, Canada, Taiwan and regularly in various states of the U.S.A.
