DIMITER BUYUKLIISKI MITCHY
Buyukliiski has had one-man exhibitions in — in Sofia and Warsaw
His paintings can be seen in many galleries and private collections in Bulgaria, FRG, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the USA, Greece, Israel and Sweden.
Buyukliiski is an artist who has realized that such profoundly sincere, inmost works as his have to be active, to be presented to the public in a careful and respectful manner. As a result, each one of them is finished to perfection, with a classical technique of painting and a vast care to organize both the surface and the space of the painting. His mastery in composition goes hand in hand with highly professional exigence for purity and clarity.
See the type of illumination in his canvases — maximum possible illumination for the picture, an illumination in which objects are not yet dematerialized bpt stand as definite forms and masses. Here and there in the nudes and in the ideal spheres there is sfumato, a transparent shade, as in an eternal day.
The general spirit of Buyukliiski's art is optimism. The objects of still-lives and interiors give the notion of immense spaces, suggest ideas of the infinity and beauty of the Universe to such an extent as to disclaim, or give a deep new meaning to the genre of still-life or of interior. Expressed in terms of epistemology, here both general and particular are present in the individual as a sign and symbol of the universal.
DIMITER BUYUKLIISKI MITCHY (1943)
Born on September 7, 1943 in Sofia to a family of artists. He had studied in the High School for Arts, which he finished in 1962; in 1969 he graduated from the Art Academy in Sofia in painting.
He has successfully participated in the General Art Exhibitions organized in Bulgaria, and in exhibitions abroad:

1976 — Third Prize of the Bulgarian Artists' Union in the competition for nude figure
1977 _ The DKMS Award for Literature and Art
1978 — The Bulgarian Artists' Union Award for overall participation in the Vth youth exhibition
1980 — Meduza Aurea Second Prize at the annual competition in Rome, awarded by the international jury of the Academia Internacionale de FArte Moderna
