Early 19th Century Romantic Seascape With Figures Oil On Panel Supra Porte
About the Item
This charming peaceful romantic scene shows a fine summer day in a hilly landscappe near the sea.
The blue sea surrounds a peninsular with a with a fortress on a hill. We see an isolated building with a fenced off field, an arch and stables. Cheerfull clouds reveal blue mountains in the background. A wanderer is resting underneath a tree, another is leaving the forground in direction of the buildigs and the arch. On a cliff in the right foreground of the painting we see an elegant gentleman wearing a top hat, red jacket and knickerbockers, he is leaning on his walking stick. He is engaged in conversation with a lady sitting by some tree trunks and a lad slouching on a trunk.
