Landscape with resting shepherdess, sheep and cow, Tschaggeny 1849, signed and dated lower right by the Flemish Romantic painter and engraver Charles Philogene Tschaggeny, Bruxelles 1815-1894. This antique oil on oak panel painting, set in modern carved gilt-wood frame, depicts a resting shepherdess seated in the shade of a tree, stroking a cow. Italian landscape with trees on a hill, oil on canvas cardboard unfraimed painting signed Scaroni at the lower left by the Italian artist Annibale Scaroni born in Lombardy, Brescia 1891 and died in Milan in 1983. The back of this work shows author name, date and title, 1951 La Pianta meaning the Tree. The landscape is portraied as if it were a still life, the tree on the central left is the main subject of the composition and the overbearing strength of this tree is all in the skilful use of shades of green spread quickly with little material and quick brushes and this is a characteristic of the painter that we have found in other landscapes. The work is in a good condition, signed on the lower left, unframed. Minor painting gouging at the sky. It comes form a private Milanese collection, we have many matching paintings...
