About the Item
A fine early 20th century surrealist/cubist oil on canvas, depicting a pipe playing or smoking figure, laid against a tree. Expertly painted but sadly unsigned. The canvas frame stamped Hardy-Alan, a Parisian art supplier from the mid 1800s until 1933 - a supplier used by the likes of Vincent Van Gogh. French, early 20th century.
