Exquisite oil on canvas portrait of a young lady in stunning blue dress, signed on the front bottom right Guilio Salti, also signed on reverse with original Florentine Gallery Label.
Giulio Salti (1899-1984) was born in Barberino di Mugello (Florence, Italy) September 21, 1899 and spent his childhood and youth in the country, drawing nature and the locals. He attended schools in Florence and the train station began to draw traveler's caricatures.Not being able to attend the Academy for economic reasons he was forced to be employed at the State Railways, but continued to pursue his passion for painting, studying and visiting the painter Giuseppe Amisani and became friends.Entered the art scene, in 1924 he was accepted to the XVI Biennale in Venice and from there began major exhibition activities (Promoter of Turin in 1926 to 1928, position of the Society of Fine Arts of the Palazzo Pitti in 1927, Palazzo Strozzi in the Interprovincial 1941 International Art Exhibition Sacra in Rome in 1950, National Exhibition of Fine Arts of the Royal Palace in Naples in 1951, the International Exhibition of Art in Sanremo in 1967).In 1949 he left the state employment to devote himself entirely to painting.
