About the Item

A melancholic variant painting titled «Villaggio Sul Lago» by the french artist Henri Bellery-Desfontaines depicting a family scene with the father and son fishing in the river shore while ther mother walks to the family house. Henri Bellery-Desfontaines , born with Paris in 1867 and died October 6th 1909, is a French Noveau artist Jack-of-All- Trades, who produced tables, illustrations, posters, lithographies, sketches of carpet, pieces of furniture and banknotes, and even experimented with décor & architecture. In the 1900s, Paris was an ideal setting for a group of young artists influenced by creative currents such as neogothic style or symbolism. The majority of them began as painters and then transitioned to decorative arts, drawn to the concept of an ever-present, lifeless, and entire art. Henri Bellery-Desfontaines was a member of this group, beginning as a painter in Pierre-Victor Galland's atelier. He entrusted him with the decorative themes that will enclose Panthéon de Paris' drawings: Maillot, Bonnat, Humbert Frame 67 X 59 cm Wood 41 x 32 cm
