About the Item

High-quality Print This is the first generation Utagawa Hiroshige (Tatsusai) brush painting ``Hakone Hot Spring Field''. Although it is a Print it is very beautiful and has a strong presence. [First generation Utagawa Hiroshige (Tatsusai)] 1797 - 1858 An ukiyo-e artist in the late Edo period. He is from Edo. His last name is Ando. His common names are Juemon and Tokubei. He is listed as Ichiyusai, Ichiyusai, and Ichiryusai in separate issues. (The name (Rissai) was used from around 1842 to 1858.) Born in 9th year of Kansei era. Served as a regular firefighter in the 6th year of Bunka. In Bunka 8, he became a student of Toyohiro Utagawa.   He established himself as a landscape painter with ``The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido,'' which he wrote in 1886, based on a sketch he took when he went to Kyoto to join the Shogunate's horse-presenting party.    Died on September 6, Ansei 5. He is 62 years old. ■Silk books and crafts ■Condition  is beautiful. ■Dimensions  Axis dimensions: approx. 180.0cm x approx. 44.5cm.
